TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Talladega College women's volleyball team fell at home tonight 3-1 (25-16, 16-25, 18-25, 19-25) in a non-conference match to Edward Waters University. The loss snaps a three-match winning streak, which sends the Tornadoes to 18-8 on the year while the Lady Tigers improved to 11-4 on the season.
Talladega jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the opening set, but the Lady Tigers took advantage of a pair of errors to knot things up at four. Both teams traded points and found themselves tied at 11 before the Tornadoes used a 5-0 run to break the match open and take a 16-11 lead. Edward Waters was able to use a 3-1 run to cut the lead down to four and trail, 17-14, but it wasn't enough as Talladega closed out the set on an 8-2 run to win 25-16 and go up 1-0 in the match.
Trailing 10-6 in set two, Talladega wasn't able to overcome the four-point lead as Edward Waters broke things open to take a 17-8 lead. The Tornadoes used a 5-1 run to cut the lead down to 18-13, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Tigers went on to win 25-16 and even the match at one.
Both teams found themselves tied at nine in set three, but a 4-0 run allowed Edward Waters to take a 13-9 lead. Talladega attempted to climb back into the match, but Edward Waters added to its lead and went on to win 25-18 and take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Edward Waters took a 4-2 lead in set three before Talladega used a 3-0 run to take a 5-4 lead. The lead didn't last long as the Lady Tigers scored the next three points to go back in front, 7-4. From that moment the momentum was on the side of Edward Waters as they were able to take the set 25-19 and the match, 3-1.

Giovana Costarelli finished with a double-double in assists with 17 and digs with 14. Teammate
Zyaire Prettie Garrit finished with a team-high 21 kills while hitting .447 for the match.
Briyith Echeverri finished with 12 digs while
Taquoia Rounds tallied 16 digs for Talladega.
The Tornadoes are on the road this Sunday as they face Tougaloo College in a GCAC match that starts at 1 p.m.
