TALLADEGA, Ala. – Despite having a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter, the Talladega College women's basketball team took a tough loss Saturday afternoon at home to Southern States Athletic Conference opponent Life University, 71-70.

The Tornadoes (4-3, 0-2 SSAC) held a 13-point lead after a layup from Je'Nya Wilder with 8:36 left in the game to make the score 62-49. Following that bucket, the Running Eagles put together a 21-7 to take a 70-69 lead capped by a three from Santavia Grant at the 2:03 mark. Wilder hit a free throw to tie the game 70-70 with 1:19 to go, but Fapou Semebene drained a free throw of her own with two seconds left to give Life the 71-70 road win.
