BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – After earning a win yesterday, the Talladega College volleyball team will finish the road trip with a split after falling to the top team in the Southern Sports Athletic Conference Blue Mountain College Lady Toppers, 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Tyler Gym.

Blue Mountain (25-14, 25-13, 25-20) improved to 27-2 overall and 15-1 in the SSAC, while Talladega fell to 13-15 on the season and 5-11 in league competition.

ZyAire-Prettie Garrit posted a team-leading nine kills while Maloree Calzadillas passed seven assists and Raven Clater added six assists.

Taquoia Rounds, Kenya Glenn and Garrit all each had 11 digs to tie for the team lead. Nedu Evans led the front line with three total blocks thanks to two block assists and a solo block.

Taylor Wright led the way with 12 kills for the Lady Toppers, while Anna Lucas passed 28 assists. Jaiyah Jackson led a trio of players with double-digit digs after posting 14 digs, while Tori Walker and Gigi Sasso added 12 digs each.

Dega has two more home games to close the regular season. First is a matchup with the University of Mobile scheduled for 6 p.m. on Nov. 4. The regular season concludes against Faulkner University on Nov. 5 at noon.
