WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Talladega men's volleyball team took part in two match on Friday, defeating St. Andrews 3-0 in the opener before taking the nightcap against Truett McConnell by a final of 3-1. The Tornadoes have now won three of their last four matches dating back to March 21.
In the first match of the day against the Knights, the Tornadoes picked up the sweep behind set scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-16. The sweep is the third of the season for Talladega, who close out the season with nine consecutive road games.
Nkoya Williams-Bailey led the way offensively with 12 kills, while
Richard Holloman III's 30 assists is a new season-high. The Tornadoes hit .310 as a team in the win, turning in the best market of the 2025 campaign.
In the nightcap,
Love-let Blake paced the Talladega offense with an even dozen kills, followed by Williams-Bailey's total of 12. Holloman III recorded his second season-best of the day with 33 assists, doing so without a single set error.
Denzel Pepper picked up an impressive eight blocks, giving the Tornadoes a strong defensive presence up front.
Andrea Tognazzo turned in a team-high eight digs, followed by Blake's total of six.
The Tornadoes close out the season on Saturday, when they take on Carolina University. First serve is slated for 8:00 p.m.
