In a high-energy conference matchup in Nashville, the Talladega College Tornadoes powered past Fisk University, earning a hard-fought 91–89 victory behind a dominant first-half performance and clutch plays down the stretch.
Talladega came out firing, exploding for 55 first-half points and controlling the tempo early. The Tornadoes' balanced scoring attack helped them build momentum, with multiple players stepping up in key moments.
Shaun Walker led Talladega with a commanding 28 points, shooting efficiently and anchoring the offense when Fisk made late pushes. Arthur Williams was a steady force on both ends, adding 12 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals, while Tre Simmons provided a major spark from deep, knocking down three three-pointers on his way to 15 points.
The Tornadoes also received strong production from their bench, contributing 32 points, highlighted by Isaiah Mayes (10 points, 7 rebounds) and Derek Burditt (5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists). Talladega's ability to score in the paint — 48 total points inside — played a major role in keeping the lead intact when Fisk began heating up late.
Fisk made a strong second-half push behind sharp perimeter shooting, cutting Talladega's lead to a single possession in the final minutes. However, crucial defensive stops and composed ball movement allowed Talladega to close out the win.
Coach Jameus Hartsfield praised his team's grit and chemistry after the game, stating:
"Hard fought road win! I'm so incredibly proud of the togetherness that we're forming. Stacking days. Stacking wins."
