Talladega College Secures Statement Exhibition Win Over NCAA Division II Fort Valley State

Talladega College continued its strong early-season momentum on Monday evening, earning a 71–65 exhibition victory over NCAA Division II Fort Valley State University inside the Health & Physical Education Complex. The win reflects the Lady Tornadoes' competitive edge and growth as they move through the first stretch of their 2025 campaign.

Talladega opened the night with confidence, taking a 20–15 lead after the first quarter behind sharp defense and aggressive play in transition. The second quarter saw Fort Valley State battle back, but the Lady Tornadoes maintained a 30–29 lead at halftime.

The pivotal third quarter showcased Talladega's toughness and depth. Outscoring the Wildcats 20–12, the Lady Tornadoes built a cushion that carried them through the final period. Despite a late push from Fort Valley State, Talladega's poise and defensive execution closed out the exhibition win.

Talladega forced 34 turnovers and turned them into 25 points while dominating bench scoring 39–2 — a difference-maker throughout the night.

Though an exhibition, the win over a Division II opponent highlights Talladega's developing chemistry, growing confidence, and commitment to their defensive identity. The Lady Tornadoes now look ahead as they continue preparing for the heart of their regular-season schedule.
