Talladega Tornados Dominate Tougaloo 4-0 in Conference Clash

Talladega, Ala — The Talladega College men's soccer team finally found their stride on Wednesday, delivering a statement-making 4-0 victory over Tougaloo College in a conference showdown at Titan Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, the Tornados came alive in the second, dominating possession and outshooting the host team 16-2. Melachai Daniel led the charge with two spectacular goals, one in the 68th minute and another in the 79th minute, the latter assisted by Jared Smeins. Freshman Christopher Sims added two more late goals (82nd minute), with Smeins again setting up a finish, igniting the Tornados' explosive offense.

Talladega's relentless attack kept Tougaloo on their heels all second half, with Daniel, Sims, and Smeins combining for 14 shots on goal. Even a missed penalty couldn't slow the team's momentum.

In the net, Tariq Smith was a fortress, stopping both shots on target from Tougaloo and recording the clean sheet. The Tornados' defense was equally impressive, keeping the home side scoreless.

Three yellow cards—issued to Daniel, Sims, and Dijon Brown—didn't slow the Tornados down as they cruised to their first win of the season, sending a clear message to the rest of the conference.

With four games left, including two more conference matchups, Talladega's Tornados are rolling with confidence, showing Wednesday night that they are a team to watch.
