Women’s Soccer Earns 3-0 Victory over Oglethorpe

TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Talladega College women's soccer team overcame a slow start on the way to a 3-0 home win over NCAA Division III opponent the Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels Saturday afternoon.

Neither team could muster a score in the first half of action, however Cycoiah Wattley broke the silence in the 48th minute thanks to an assist from Kenya Glenn to give the Tornadoes a 1-0 lead.
 
Wattley added a second goal in the in the 57th minute before Annalisa Vincent closed the scoring and capped the game with a score in the 62nd minute to push the score to the final tally of 3-0 in favor of the Tornadoes.
 
Talladega outshot the Stormy Petrels 5-4 and finished with in the lead with shots on goal, 5-2.
 
Wattley finished with a perfect effort with two shots on goal and two scores, Vincent's one shot was a score, while Autumn Wyatt posted a SOG.
 
Natalie Need collected two saves as she went wire to wire in the goal for the Tornadoes.
 
Talladega College (2-2) returns to action tomorrow at 1 p.m. at home against Oakwood University. The matchup was rescheduled from September 8.
