TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Talladega College men's volleyball team fell 3-0 (16-25, 14-25, 17-25) to Life University tonight at home. The Tornadoes are now 3-23 on the season while Life is 19-10.
Talladega took an early 3-2 lead in the opening set. The Tornadoes held a one-point edge for the first 13 points combined, but the lead didn't hold as Life scored back-to-back points to go up, 8-7.
Talladega was able to tie things at eight and then again at nine. Life after that used a 9-1 run to break the set open and take an 18-10 lead. The Running Eagles after that took the set 25-16 to go up 1-0 in the match.
Life jumped out to a 5-0 lead in set two but Talladega attempted to chip away at the lead to trail, 7-4. The Running Eagles went on an 8-5 run to push the lead to 15-9 and were able to go on to win the set, 25-14.
Talladega looked to force a fourth as it entered the third set of the match. Life had other ideas when it took a 9-6 lead and was able to push the lead to, 16-9. The Running Eagles after that put the set away as it went on to win 25-17 and take the match, 3-0.
Mallik Foreman paced all Talladega players in kills with seven digs with six. Teammate
Denzel Pepper finished with five digs.
Elijah Foster finished with a team-high 14 assists in the process.
Talladega is back in action for its final home match on Friday, April 12 at 6 p.m. when it hosts Truett McConnell University
