HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Talladega College women's volleyball team fell in its final regular season match 3-0 (20-25, 17-25, 15-25) to William Carey University tonight on the road. The Tornadoes are now 23-8 on eh year while William Carey is 22-8 on the season.
Trailing 3-0 in the first set, Talladega tied things up with three straight kills, but William Carey retook the lead with back-to-back points to go up, 5-3. The Tornadoes used a 9-2 run to take its first lead of the set and go in front, 9-7. The lead did not last long as William Carey used an 11-2 run to go back in front 18-11, but Talladega chipped away at the lead to come within two and trail, 19-17. That was as close as the Tornadoes came as they fell 25-20 in the set.
William Carey took an early 6-3 lead in set two and was able to push its lead to, 12-7. The Tornadoes attempted to keep it close but it wasn't enough as William Carey pushed the lead to, 20-10. Talladega was able to get the lead back to single digits as it trailed 24-17 but a William Carey kill secured the victory 25-17 and went up 2-0 in the match.
Going into set three, the Tornadoes looked to keep the match alive as both teams found themselves tied at four. William Carey looked to break things open as it used a 9-0 run to go in front, 13-4. The Tornadoes tried to work their way back into the match, but the lead was too great to overcome as they fell 20-15 in the set and fell 3-0 in the match.

Marcelly Perez each tallied eight kills for Talladega while
Josephine Gates tallied five kills and a .500 hitting percentage for the match.
Both
Giovana Costarelli and Nurai Sanots finished with 11 assists apiece and teammate
Briyith Echeverri registered 13 digs.
